Hi there, and welcome!

My name is Casey, and I’m honored you’ve stopped by! I’ve been married to my incredible wife, Kris, since 2013, and together we’re raising three amazing kids. I’m also a disabled veteran navigating life after service. A journey filled with both challenges and unexpected opportunities.

Currently, I’m pursuing a bachelor’s degree in horticulture, a passion that’s grown deeper the more I’ve learned. Plants, soil science, sustainability, and food production all fascinates me! This blog is my space to document what I’m learning, connect with others in the field, and build a supportive community around shared knowledge.

Whether you’re a fellow horticulture student, a seasoned grower, a home gardener, or a veteran looking for a new path, I hope you’ll find something here for you!

I’ll be sharing:

  • Insights and takeaways from my horticulture courses
  • Hands-on experiences in gardening and plant science
  • Tips and lessons learned the hard way (and the fun way)
  • How I’m utilizing my VA educational benefits, including CH 31 (Voc Rehab), and how my wife is using the Hazelwood Act and CH 35 (DEA) for her education too
  • Reflections on balancing school, family life, and navigating disability as a veteran

More than anything, I hope this blog becomes a space for learning together. I’d love to hear your experiences, suggestions, or even just stories from your own garden.

Thanks again for stopping by. Let’s grow something great, together!
